In Tibet, Tsampa is a basic dish that Tibetans eat for all their life. It is known that they then live to a ripe old age and enjoy good health. Every Tibetan monastery has its own recipe for Tsampa that differs in its taste, consistency and colour. Our Tsampa comes from CHAMDO monastery.
Barley, Tibetan tea (damson, gooseberry, Terminalia chebula and Terminalia bellirica) and black tea.
Barley ensures the normal functioning of the liver and gall bladder and has an antioxidant effect. Terminalia bellirica keeps a normal blood glucose level and a normal blood cholesterol level and supports the normal functioning of the cardiovascular system and the proper functioning of the respiratory system and reproductive system and maintains the normal skin condition.
Preparation instructions: Add 1-2 tea spoons of the Tibetan tea to 200 ml of boiling water. Leave it to infuse for 3-5 minutes. Then drain and add 2 soup spoons of barley to the tea. You can add 1-2 tea spoons of honey if required. We recommend serving this Tsampa hot.
